MEDIA RELEASE: ROWLEY"S DELIBERATE DISTORTIONS CONTINUE

THE Opposition Leader, Dr Keith Rowley, appears to be working hard to outdo his own public record of deliberate distortions. As he fuels widespread belief that he has no vision, no ideas and no plans, citizens are now increasingly aware that he has no basis for his claim to leadership either.

This according to the United National Congress in a statement issued Thursday.

The UNC was referring to Dr Rowley’s latest false claim that former Speaker of the House Wade Mark blocked a question posed to the Prime Minister in the Parliament. Like a series of previous claims, his latest statement was also immediately refuted by the former House Speaker.

A party spokesman said, “What is becoming clear is that Dr Keith Rowley has spent five years building a reputation as the most accusing, and most deceptive Opposition Leader. His moment has now come to validate his claim to leadership and even now, he has nothing factual to present to nation. His entire campaign is built on inciting panic with a rapid-fire of misinformation and distortions, hoping he can intimidate citizens into voting for him.”

The UNC added that in hastily trying to kick up dust, what Dr Keith Rowley has done is to raise questions about his own failure to do his public duties and responsibilities as an elected representative.

Dr Rowley has made yet another claim that is quickly revealed as being untrue; the nation now expects that nothing he says can be taken seriously. The party noted that it now falls to Rowley to explain why he was absent in Parliament when his own question came up for answer.

“He has made it a routine to run from Parliament every time he was being called to account and answer for his failure to do his job,” the spokesman noted. “He now has to explain to the nation if his absence from the Parliament on 22 November 2013 was one of the many occasions where he failed to fulfil his responsibility by being present in the House of Representatives.”
